Betting budgets and stake limits

Keep betting money separate from essential spending. A staking system cannot prevent losses.

Betting budgets and stake limits

Set the budget before opening the app

Use only money you can afford to lose. Rent, food, bills and borrowed money do not belong in a betting budget.

Set a spending limit and a time limit before a session. If the budget is used up, stop rather than moving money from another purpose.

Units are a record-keeping tool

A unit describes a consistent stake amount; it does not make a bet safe. For illustration, 1% of NGN 10,000 is NGN 100.

That example is not a recommended stake or a promise that the budget will last. Even repeated small stakes can exhaust it.

Do not double after a loss

Increasing each stake to recover earlier losses can make the next loss much larger. A winning bet is not owed because previous bets lost.

Fixed stakes are easier to record, but cannot turn losing selections into profitable ones.

Use account controls

Check the sportsbook's deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion options.

If limits are difficult to keep, pause betting and use problem gambling help.
